Harvey is GONE and Oakhurst is BACK

AMOCO golfers,
We are scheduled to play at Oakhurst Golf Club in Porter next Tuesday. The course had some challenges as a result of Hurricane Harvey, but has been rectified and opened back for golf since September 1. The course is deemed the best value for money in Houston and should offer us a pleasant experience when we meet there next week. You get to golf a balance of straightaways and doglegs with each offering wide fairways and challenging approaches. The greens are massive and they are well manicured and consistent. I understand Harvey has not taken away any of these.
Don’t miss out of the fun. The rain forecast for the day is about 30% for Houston area. We will hope that this is outside of Porter. We will be officially in Fall so the Houston summer heat should not be a factor.
Please don’t forget to register. I am looking forward to seeing all of you.

WindRose, Here We Come

Dear Amoco Golfers,
We play next at WindRose Golf Course on Tuesday 19September. I understand that the course was not subjected to any damage due to Hurricane Harvey. Thank God. As advertised by the club, the course is a golfer’s favorite, due to its excellent golf course conditions and one of the best greens around. This 18-hole championship layout features lush fairways that meander through century old Oak and Pine trees. Strategic water hazards and substantial sand bunkering add to the aesthetics and integrity of this great track. Risk and reward is the name of the game on the par 3’s, as all of them are guarded by water. WindRose offers a challenge to players of all skill levels looking for some great Houston golf.
So, don’t miss out of the fun. There is no rain in the forecast and even though the temperatures may be in the 80s, the humidity should be in our favor.
Please don’t forget to register. I am looking forward to seeing all of you.
Regards
