Bob Dahl introduced us to a format of play that we’ve rarely used in the past. He called it the “Pros and Semi-Pros”. For those who were not there Bob selected the A&B players and had them play on a “pro” flight where the format was individual stroke play with the top six chosen by their low net score. Muligans were frowned upon, and rules were enforced to a much greater extent than normal for our group. The Semi-Pros (C&D) players played standard ARGG team-golf.
We’d like to find our from all of you, whether you played or not, what you think of this format?
We’re playing Oakhurst this next Tuesday. Chuck Dugand will do Pairings for this week, but will need help later in the month. Summer is coming so our weather is warming, but the longer range forecast for next Tuesday still looks relatively moderate. Hope to see you there!
This week at Lake Windcrest will are deviating from our normal format. There are two flights – Pros & Semi-Pros.
The three Semi Foursomes will play the usual Amoco format while playing from the forward (Green) tees.
The Four Pro Foursomes will play regular stroke golf on all 18 holes. Modification are indicated on the score card and on the pairings sheet. This group will play from the white tees.
There are separate pairing sheets for each flight. Generally if you handicap is above 9 you are playing in the Semi Group

We are playing Lake Windcrest on Tuesday with good weather in the forecast. And this is after two weeks with rain checks and thunder. Lake Windcrest is one of the courses where we generally have a good turnout due to course conditions and a spaghetti lunch. If 24 or more sign up I plan to divide the group into two flights—Pros and Semi Pros. “A” players generally are never are paired together and this is a good opportunity to play with equals. Hope to see your name on the sign up sheet this weekend.
Attached are tomorrow’s pairing and rules. I’ve also attached a copy of game of the week “The Snake” Teams can decide to play the game or save the idea for a better day.
Weather forecast is for afternoon scattered storms but this may change. Lets hope storms hold off. Send me a text if you have questions. 713.306.3605.

We are playing Cinco Ranch this Tuesday. It was a course placed on the schedule lastyear with the opening of the Grand Parkway. I live in Cypress and it takes me less time to drive to Cinco than toHigh Meadow. The layout is challengingbut there is help with GPS on all carts.
I have buried “Honest John” and replace him with “The Snake”.
Look for pairings tomorrow at 7 p.m. Amoco-Chico-Ranch-Golf-Game.pdf
25 Hearty Souls showed up to play Willow Creek today despite the threat of inclement weather. The weather held off until most had 11 or 12 holes in. Willow Creek treated us to there usual great luncheon fare and provided a 18 hole “rain check”. Overall it was a good day!
I’ve attached a PDF with tomorrows pairings and rules. It is my understanding that this format will work. If not show up tomorrow and I will have copies available on the course.
I will call the course at 7:15 if there are weather issues and forward that information to you. Thanks, Bob Dahl Willow-Creek-Pairings-PDF.pdf
Nine Players are currently signup to play Willow Creek on Tuesday. As a guest on a private course we like to respond with a good turnout.
There are many senior groups in North Houstonbut we are unique in that we play several private courses and lunch is included. Amoco golf is team game with its ownrules. A long-time member mentionedlast week that the payout formula has existed for over 23 years. We would like to keep it going and as DerrylYork mentioned at the luncheon more pairing volunteers are needed. Weather permitting, we will play two low net on thefront. On the back play, two low net with a Modified Shambleon par 4 & 5’s. Hit your ball on ballon par 3’s and use three low net. Team Par is 146 for the Honest Johncompetition. I would appreciate an early sign up as I have meetings onMonday evening. My cell is 713.306.3605. email: email@example.com
